Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Scoreboard ("Scoreboard," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

Scoreboard is a mobile and web application for organizing golf trips: rosters, schedules, hole-by-hole scoring, leaderboards, and friendly bets. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Scoreboard.
• You're responsible for the activity on your account. Keep your sign-in email secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You may not impersonate someone else or create accounts on behalf of a person you're not authorized to represent.

3. Your Content

You own the information you put into the Service — names, scores, handicaps, bet results. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and share that content with other members of any trip you join, solely to operate the Service.

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter — including any handicaps and scores recorded in trips you administer.

4. Acceptable Use

Don't use Scoreboard to:

• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Upload content you don't have the right to share or that violates someone's privacy.
• Probe, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Service, or attempt to interfere with its operation.
• Run any form of real-money gambling, betting pool, or sweepstakes through the app.
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

5. Friendly Bets, Not Gambling

The bets feature is provided as a scorekeeping convenience for informal wagering between friends. Scoreboard does not facilitate payments, hold funds, or operate as a gambling service. Any money exchanged between players is strictly between them, and they alone are responsible for compliance with the laws of their jurisdiction.

6. Trip Administrators

Trip owners and admins can add or remove players, edit handicaps, edit scores after a round is final, and mark payouts as paid. If you're a player in a trip, you're trusting the trip's admins with that authority — choose your trips accordingly.

7. Fees

Scoreboard is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll give you notice and a chance to opt in before any charges apply.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app or by emailing support@scoreboardgolf.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to the Service or other users.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores or bet calculations are free of mistakes. Always sanity-check anything that matters.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scoreboard and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Scoreboard from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
